Aidan O’Connell takes blame after horror snap

The Las Vegas Raiders suffered a bitter defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs. Shortly before the end, a failed snap decides. While quarterback Aidan O’Connell takes the blame, head coach Antonio Pierce is still proud.

It was almost enough to surprise the Las Vegas Raiders. They almost beat the Kansas City Chiefs. 15 seconds before the end of the party, the Raiders find themselves within field goal range. A successful attempt would have secured victory.

But then one failed Snap by center Jackson Powers-Johnson. The Chiefs secured the ball and the victory. Quarterback Aidan O’Connell was disappointed after the game, but took the blame for the snap.

“It’s completely my fault,” O’Connell told NFL.com. “I looked to my right to make sure the guys were ready and I started clapping,” the quarterback continued. However, this was a misunderstanding. O’Connell wanted to give his center a different signal, not that he should snap the ball yet.

“Jackson did exactly what he was supposed to, except I clapped too early,” admits O’Connell. He only blames himself. “This is probably the hardest pill for me to swallow.”

Head coach Pierce: “Proud to fight”

Despite the bitter defeat, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce wants to be proud of his team. After the game he said: “I’m proud of them – just proud of my team, proud of our team, proud of fighting.” He continued: “We lost out against the champions again.” That is This is the second time this season that we have played very hard against them. We had the opportunity to win the game and we were able to win it. The record is what it is, but this is a team that is proud, that plays for each other.

Due to the narrow 17:19 defeat, the Raiders no longer have any chance of making the playoffs. The rival from Kansas City, on the other hand, is certainly qualified.
