Man found with stab wound at Karl Marx monument

Chemnitz. The Chemnitz police are investigating suspected attempted homicide. A seriously injured man was found on Brückenstrasse near the Karl Marx Monument early Saturday morning. According to a witness, emergency services found the 29-year-old there with a stab wound.

The 29-year-old Afghan was treated by the emergency services and taken to a hospital. According to police, he is receiving intensive care treatment.

Investigations in Chemnitz: Search for attackers continues

According to initial investigations, the 29-year-old was with a friend in a bar on Brückenstrasse. When she wanted to leave around four o’clock in the morning, she was suddenly attacked by an acquaintance. The man’s companion was able to escape and called the police. He remained uninjured.
